Red party

We hosted The Red Party this year. It is a fundraiser for Sustain Utah.

Everything was crazy red.

It was fun- but it was a long day.

It started out with lessons at the studio and a booth at the Wedding Expo.

The party went until 2 A.M.

I left at 10:00- Kevin had to go to work.

But my feet weren't sad at all!

Update

So I have been slacking on my posting. I am well aware. I wasn't sure anyone would notice. Apparently I have a few more readers than I had originally thought. Go figure. As I've been "not posting", there have been random moments of, "Hey- I should blog about this." and "That would be a great post." Uh- yeah, it never got put into action. Whoops. So here is a feeble attempt to put in a few of those random "blog moments".

Thomas, as always is adorable. In fact, I told him the other day he was adorable.
He said, "I'm adorable...Mama, I'm not adorable!"
"You're not?"
"No. I'm Thomas!"

He watched Snow White with Grandma a few weeks ago...forgot how creepy the wicked queen really was and how horrible the story really is about the woodsman who has to cut out her heart, the witchcraft, wanting Snow White to be buried alive...Is this really a kid's show?!?! I digress-Thomas comes and wakes me up in the morning because I am not an early riser. He tried and tried to get me up, but I was reluctant. Finally he resorted to giving me a kiss to wake up like the Prince. It is now customary when he crawls into bed to wake me up now- to be Mama's Prince and give me a kiss. Priceless! (Then he demands that I stretch and get out of bed because he is thirsty.)

Kevin is working as hard as ever to provide for our family. I would be so lost without him. He is my love, my hero and my friend. I love him dearly. It is hard some days when I don't see him at all because our schedules conflict. I guess it just makes it that much sweeter when we do get the opportunity to spend time together.

I am working my tail off to get a show ready for the Eclipse movie debut. I have started a performance team at the dance studio. Still am in the market for a really tall guy with dance skills to partner a tall girl... if anyone has any leads, let me know. :) It is coming together, but it is stressful. I have some good friends who are my partners in crime lending a hand. I couldn't make it without them! I'm sure you will be subjected to my rambling about Twilight and the Eclipse show until its fruition at the end of June. I apologize in advance. I appreciate your understanding. HA!

Say what?

So I was randomly perusing the Twlight fan sites and came across an article on the Twilight Lexicon which made me laugh out loud, and then made me go, "Guh!"

Apparently Carlise Cullen is at the top of Forbes Magazine Wealthiest list (AKA the fictional 15).

“Global markets are rapidly recovering from the 2008 financial crisis, and so are the fortunes of the fictitious. There are six new characters on the 2010 edition of Fictional 15, our annual ranking of fiction’s richest, with an average net worth of $7.3 billion. In aggregate, the nine returning members are worth $79.8 billion, up 9% since we last checked in on them.

Topping the list this year is newcomer Carlisle Cullen, patriarch of the Cullen coven of vampires in the Twilight series of novels. Cullen, age 370, has accumulated a fortune of $34.1 billion–much of it from long-term investments made with the aid of his adopted daughter Alice, who picks stocks based on her ability to see into the future. See, you went, "Guh!" too! I had no idea it was in the billions! Well I guess it had to be magnificently substantial for him to have bought a freaking island! I wonder if Bella will ever know the dollar amount- and what her reaction would be. Sigh- to live in that world...

How time flies

So I'm not in much of a mood to blog lately, but I did find this noteworthy:

I have been a stay at home mom/dance instructor for a full year now.

There have been ups and downs but when I told Kevin about it- he asked me, "So are you happier now than you were a year ago?" My answer, "Unequivocally, yes."

That was the whole point of the job change. Less stress and a happier Mandy. I say Mission accomplished.

"Are you ready for this?"

So I am up late last night checking my facebook page. And I see that Martin had posted something as BallroomUtah with a youtube link. I click it wondering what in the world it could be. Then I see the title is Martin and Mandy @SLSC Competition 2009. WHAT? Could this be the salsa congress competition we entered last year for the heck of it to see if we made it to the world salsa competition? Yes. It was. It was the first time I had seen the footage of it ever. It was our second performance since I started dancing again. It has good moments and bad. You can tell we are still getting used to each other's dancing styles and trying to make it work. You can see it here if you like. Be sure to watch in HD. Looks much better.

De plane! De plane!

We took Thomas the other day to the Hill Aerospace Museum. He loved all the big planes outside, but had a problem listening and following directions inside the museum. Frustrating.

Hard to believe that these huge hunks of metal can fly in the air.
