Thoughts

Before you read this and jump to conclusions, I have a disclaimer: No, I am not pregnant.

Ya know- studying the New Testament in sunday School has got me thinking.

Reading about the visits to Elisabeth and Mary by an angel telling them that they would bring a child into this world. And not just any child- but John, the baptist, to prepare the way for the Savior. And the Savior himself! What an announcement eh? Not only are you told that against all odds, you are with child- but the child you carry is on God's errand!

Now imagine poor Zacharias and Joseph.
"Say what?!!?!?!"

What a weight the four of them must have felt on their shoulders!

All of our children are also on God's errand- and the responsibility isn't any less than that of those two ancient sets of parents. The fear and uncertainty we feel about raising our children correctly, I'm sure they felt too.

And like them, if we rely on our Heavenly Father, we too, can raise children who will change the world!

Doesn't make it any less of a "Say what?!?!" situation though. HA!
